On Pentecost Sunday we were gathered for worship in the Martin's living room. Everyone had been instructed to dress in reds, pinks, oranges, and yellows, and to bring flowers from our gardens. The flowers were in glass vases--some clear, some red, some green, some blue--on a table in front of a big window. The sun poured in through the window and glinted off the glass vases like sparks. It was a scene of beauty, life, and expectation.
