Original Blessing

I am a Christian and I am a homeschooler, but I am not necessarily a Christian Homeschooler. I am a Christian who believes in Original Blessing rather than Original Sin. Herbert Haag, former president of the Catholic Bible Association of Germany and author of Is Original Sin in Scripture?, writes:

The idea that Adam’s descendants are automatically sinners because of the sin of their ancestor, and that they are already sinners when they enter the world, is foreign to Holy Scripture. (106)
Matthew Fox, author of Original Blessing writes:

We enter a broken and torn and sinful world—that is for sure. But we do not enter as blotches on existence, as sinful creatures; we burst into the world as “original blessings.” And anyone who has joyfully brought children into the world knows this. (47).

What does Original Sin and Original Blessing have to do with the way I educate my children? If I see my child as a “blotch on existence” or as a “sinner,” then I must change my child. If I see my child as a blessing, then I get to participate in his unfolding.
